The True Meditation

To describe anything in words is difficult; it might even cause boredom. But to demonstrate it by deed is easier and more pleasant! In Upasana, through meditation & chanting, spiritual aspirants are able to cast off their ignorance, layer by layer. They withdraw their sense perceptions in contact with worldly experiences. Only then the process that aims at this sacred consummation deserves to be called meditation. For this task we must be equipped with good habits, discipline, and high ideals. We must atleast be on the path of renunciation of worldly things and their attractions. Whatever be the situation, we should conduct ourself with enthusiasm and joy. Whatever is done must be dedicated not to earn a livelihood, but for earning spiritual bliss (Atma-ananda). We should train ourself to adopt a good sitting posture (asana) to avoid body-tension and to go beyond body consciousness. If we truly meditate thus, we can achieve oneness with the Divine and experience the joy of realizing the Atma(spirit) within ourselves
